Musica Transalpina is a professional vocal & period instrument ensemble dedicated to the research & performance of baroque sacred music.
ITALIA UND GERMANIA (1828)
Allegorical painting by Lübeck-born Nazarene Johann Friedrich Oberbeck (1789-1869). Like the work of other Nazarenes, Oberbeck’s Renaissance-inspired style was accompanied by long stays in Italy — and conversion to Roman Catholicism.
SANTA MONICA BAY WOMAN’S CLUB
Classical Revival-style building completed in 1914. Spacious entranceway opens to ballroom and auditorium (second floor). Home to one of the City of Santa Monica’s oldest social institutions.
