An Associate Professor in the Music Department at Mount Saint Mary’s University, Dr. Carlson is a musicologist committed to serving the local community through the arts. In addition to his academic work, he is the co-founder of the Sounds Like LA (formerly Santa Monica Youth Orchestra) and the creator of MSMU’s Women in Music Festival.
