An Associate Professor in the Music Department at Mount Saint Mary’s University, Dr. Carlson is a musicologist and classical guitarist committed to serving the local community through the arts. In addition to his academic and performance work, he is the co-founder of the Santa Monica Youth Orchestra and the creator of MSMU’s Women in Music Festival.
