MARTIN CHALIFOUR & STEVEN VANHAUWAERT

Join LA Phil concertmaster Martin Chalifour and celebrated pianist Steven Vanhauwaert for an intimate afternoon of chamber music, including works by Debussy, Fauré, Mozart, and Poulenc.

The performance will be held in the Parlor Room of the historic Stimson House, a Gilded Age mansion in LA’s University Park neighborhood.

Event capacity is just 45 guests.

Masks are required indoors.

PROGRAM

Leclair – Violin Sonata No. 3 in D, Op. 9 No. 3
Mozart – Violin Sonata No. 26 in Bb, K. 378
Claude Debussy – Violin Sonata
Fauré – Apres un Reve, Op. 7 No.1
Poulenc – Flute Sonata (arr. Chalifour)

VENUE

Among the most costly and admired constructions of 1890s Los Angeles, the 30-room Stimson House is a spectacular example of Gilded Age architecture, often referred to as the “red castle” due to its distinctive four-story turret. The concert will be held in the ornate Parlor Room of the House, a fittingly intimate setting for chamber music.
